lieht & Basil's Sports Picks Thread
Ännu en ny dagbok, Popcorn veckan gav Netto: +2.18, ingen höjdare. Men hade enligt mig otroligt oflyt.
Denna dagbok kommer att hållas på engelska, och skulle uppskatta om alla svar och frågor också skrivs på engelska. Introduction: In this blog, I will cap hockey and soccer. This will include smaller leagues such as Danish/Norwegian and Swedish Div1 hockey. There might be some other sports like tennis, but the main sports will be hockey and soccer. The goal with this blog is to provide with good quality picks. The people that have followed me here on sharps know that I have high expectations on myself, and I will keep pushing myself to produce better and more profitable picks. This was a brief introduction on what to expect from this blog, and Basil will introduce himself soon. First two picks will be posted after Basil's introduction. This is Basil here- we are ready to post some great picks in NHL, Euro hockey, football, and other sports..... so be prepared!
I am Canadian and a lifelong follower of the NHL, and so I know the teams, players and where to find good bets through my contacts. It's been a good season for us on the ice in the NHL so far this year with some nice surprises along the way and so I expect more of the same. Keep following us for some good betting ideas. First two plays will be
Pick: SonderjyskE -1.5 @ 1.50 Stake: 5u Writeup: Stats in Denmark (4-0-0) SonderjyskE defeated Odense with ease in a 6-1 win. There was no question about who was the best team in the match, and SonderjyskE controlled the game from the start til the end. They are know placed first with 16 wins out of 17 games with 68:19 in goal difference and 17 points ahead. Aalborg is placed in the middle with the others and as many other mediocre teams they are struggling with their away play. They have won 3 out of their 8 away games. One win was against Odense after Overtime, and the second one against Esbjerg who is placed last in the league. Now they will face SonderjyskE who has been amazing at home this year. 7 wins out of 8 home games is their record, loosing the one after penalties in a 0-0 game against Frederikshavn. And its clear that their defense is superb at home. 40:9 is their goal difference at home, and then you have to take in mind that 6 of the goals allowed where against, todays opponent Aalborg, in their first home game this season. If thats not counted, they have 32-3 at home after 7 games. 5 games the goaltender has kept the goalsheet clean. Now they face Aalborg who have an average of 2 goals scored away. H2H- Statistics are indeed in favor of SonderjyskE 15-2-3. With SonderjyskE's home play, and form right now, this should be a great play. Im placing 5 units on it. Pick: Frederikshavn -1.5 @ 1.85 Stake: 4u WriteUp: Stats in Denmark (4-0-0) Big difference between these teams. Odense is coming from a 6-1 loss away against SonderjyskE and are contiuining their roadtrip against Frederikshavn who defeated Aalborg with 5-2 away. Even though Frederikshavn's home record isnt that impressive, Odense's away record has to be alot worse. One win after 7 away games, and the win came after overtime. All of the losses have ended in 2 goals or more, except one. The same is for Frederikshavn, all wins in reg.time have ended in 2 goals or more, except one. Although its not many. Frederikshavn has allowed the 3rd least amount of goals in the league, and Odense has scored 1,1,2,2 goals in their last 4 away games. H2H are 11-1-5 in favor for Frederikshavn, The difference between these team should show and 2 goal win @ 1.85 is too high. Pinnacle opened at 2.00 but they now have a -2 line which I think should be more suitable for this play. |

PICK: Sparta @ 1.90
Stake: 4u WriteUp: Stats in Norway (25-5-1) Big big game. This is the match Sparta wanted. Last time these team faced eachother was at Valerenga, where Sparta lost 2-1. Shortly, it was Derochers against Sparta, and Derochers won. Sparta was definantly the better team, and shouldve won. Since then Sparta has 8 straight wins, all with 2 goals or more, except against Stavanger away. Sparta are 6 points ahead of Valerenga, and this is an important game. Valerenga has allowed the least goals, 24 in 17 games, although their offense has "only" scored 53 goals. Many times their goaltender Derochers have saved them, and im only waiting for the time that the true defense will reveal itself. Sparta's homeplay have been really good this season, 8 straight wins, all with 3 goals or more, except one. With 43:9 in goal difference at home, they will face Valerenga who have won 5 out of 7 away games. With a goal difference of 23:11. Its clear that they like to keep numbers low, mostly cause they win their games because of their defense. Sparta has sold more tickets than the derby against Stjernen, and there will be lots of Sparta fans there. They want this win, the loss this season was not very fair, and they should take revenge here because of their good home play. PICK: Stavanger -1.5 @ 1.55 Stake: 4u WriteUp: Stats in Norway (25-5-1) Stavanger have a great shot to take over the 2nd spot now that Valerenga will face Sparta away. They will face a Frisk/Asker who has produced really well before the break. Frisk/Asker vs. Lorenskog 5:4 Lillehammer vs. Frisk/Asker 3:3 3:4 (AP) Frisk/Asker vs. Stjernen 7:0 Manglerud/Star vs. Frisk/Asker 2:1 Frisk/Asker vs. Storhamar 2:2 2:3 (OT) Frisk/Asker vs. Rosenborg 2:2 2:3 (OT) These are their results the last 6 games, and its a big difference than the seasonstart. Now they will face a hard challenge, Stavanger away. Stavanger has won 6 out of their 8 home games, the two losses are Overtime losses against Valerenga and Sparta, where they have been close but not been able to shut them down. Frisk has lost 7 of their 8 away games, the win finally came in their last game, after penalties. I wouldnt rate Frisk's success that high though as their wins have been against teams that have struggled at the time. Stavanger has to win these kind of games in order to stay in the top three. This is a perfect opportunity to catch Valerenga, as they will face Sparta away. H2H, Stavanger are 12-2-2 against Frisk. Two or Three goal win is expected, I dont like the -2.5 line though , as this is their first game after the break. Följande användare gav Sharp$ för den här posten:

PICK: Novokuznetsk Under 2.5 (Team Total) @ 1.50
Stake: 4.5 u WriteUp: Novkuznetsk have scored over 2.5 goals 5 times in their 25 games. Dynamo has allowed more than 2.5 goals in 4 of their 9 away games. In the other 5 games they have only allowed 1 goal though against teams like Bars Kazan, SKA Petersburg, Dinamo Riga. Dynamo Moscow has allowed the least goals in the KHL, while Novokuznetsk has allowed the most and scored the least. Dynamo has won 6 of their 9 away games, and should definantly win, but I like the under total on home team better. |

PICK: HIFK ML @ 1.60 (Nordicbet)
Stake: 3u WriteUp: Been cold in SM-Liiga lately. HIFK takes on Lukko. Both of these teams managed to win their first game after their break, Lukko took an easy win against Assat with 5-2. While HIFK defeat, surprinsingly I must say, JYP after penalties. With a win here (OT or in Reg) HIFK takes over the second spot in the league. Despite the injuries on some of their players, they still have an offensive power that most teams are lacking. HIFK has scored most goals in the league, with 78 goals after 21 games played. Second in the goal scoring are todays opponent Lukko with 73 goals scored, after 22 games played. The goals allowed are another story though as, HIFK has only allowed 47 goals, while Lukko has allowed 64. HIFK are still undefeated at home after 11 home games, with 52:15 in goal difference. While Lukko's away record is not all that bad, their away play has been quite rocky, and balance is something they must find to beat a steady hometeam as HIFK are. |

Do you guys have a spreadsheet? I missed both of your picks today but I have both Sparta och Stavanger -1,5 since yesterday.
GLHF to both of you Spoiler:
Just a word of advice, when you use google translator, always make sure that your english spelling is correct first. And I also think it would be better if you didn't used it at all since the sentences often get really messed up when you translate. I think most people here understand english pretty well. har du missar detta??? detta förstärker spel på Sparta yttligare: Vålerengen är även kraftigt försvagat,då kanske ligans bästa spelare i Mark McCutcheon lämnat laget för att spela i tyska DEG Metro Stars. Basil: Love the Red Wings tonight, so am putting 2 big bets on both the Moneyline and -1.5 (Jose Theodore and Jimmy Howard are confirmed starters), and another big one on the Over 5.5. Also Chicago same Moneyline and -1.5 vs Calgary, and the over 5.5 in the game too.
2.5 u på rak, 1u HCP, 2 på total. Minnesota Wild at Detroit Red Wings: Detroit has been scoring in bunches lately, Minnesota struggles each game but has managed to win despite being outshot and outplayed consistently. Their records of late? Detroit has won 4 straight games and 7 of their last 8, and Minnesota's wins haven't been of the same quality. There are good wins and bad wins- bad wins can't continue as they are due to some luck, or bad ref calls (like the help Toronto got vs. Nashville this week: 3 straight 5-3 power plays in a row?! )and maybe most important: Minnesota is 1-7 in their last 8 visits to Joe Louis Arena. Add to that the starting goalies: Detroit has Jimmy Howard between the pipes and Minn has Jose Theodore. Friday night's the night for Minnesota to lose, and Detroit will deliver the goods for us. Chicago Black Hawks at Calgary Flames: Both teams struggled at the sart of the season, Chicago because of their 'Stanley Cup hangover' and having traded away grit players like Byfuglien, and Calgary because they are just plain bad and even with some tweaks like the trade this week with Carolina the Flames are not going anywhere (slow or fast). But Chicago has started to play better lately, more scoring (5-0 vs the Oilers this week), better Defence, and have regained confidence. Chicago's record on the road is very good, and their last 10 games vs. Calgary post an impressive 8-2 record. Calgary is on a slide, having lost 3 straight games (those to Phoenix!) and 7 of their last 8 I see Chicago taking it pretty easily tonight. Senast redigerad av lieht den 2010-11-19 klockan 19:47. |

5-2 i NHL igår, otur med överspelet i panthers.
I am only home for 1 more hour then am gone all day (going to the Canadian fooball match- Montreal Alouettes vs Toronto Argonauts... I took Montreal -10 as think they will win big). Not sure if I can check out NHL after the game or maybe before if I have time but here's what I have elsewhere today. NBA: New Orleans Hornets -5.5 or -6.5 (pays 2.03 or more) vs. Sacramento Kings. The Hornets are on fire, they're 10-1 this year and the Kings are 4-7. The Kings barely beat New Jersey yesterday (Nets are 4-9 and still suck) but otherwise had lost 6 straight games prior to that, while David West and the Hornets are on fire. Also, the Hornets just made a 5-player trade/deal yesterday with Toronto in which they come out the clear winners, but even without the new players starting with them today it helped boost morale on an already strong team. NFL: Taking 2 big favourites with big spreads, and 1 smaller bet on an underdog. Baltimore Ravens -10.5 vs. Carolina Panthers: The Panthers are a laughing stock in the NFL, were just destroyed by the Bucs, the players have given up, and today they get to face a Ravens team that has had 10 days to rest up for this game?! Ravens will probably win by more than 14 points today, and the Panthers might not even score 10 points. Kansas City Chiefs -10.5 vs Arizona Cardinals: The Chiefs lost big last week to Denver and that doesn't sit well with them, so they will be out for revenge against this week's opponents- the Cards. Chiefs did the same damage to Jacksonville this year, and Arizona is in the same category..... bad defence, not a good QB to throw for them, and they can't run the ball well at all. Kansas City can run the ball well and will probably win by 14 or more as well. Tampa Bay Buccaneers +3.5 vs. San Fran 49ers: Most people think San Francisco will win easily, Tampa travels across the country for the game, they are young, etc... but the 49ers have had their own problems and I am not that impressed with their quarterback Troy Smith. For a smaller bet I will try the Bucs. |

5-0 i NFL, hook i NBA'n
och 0-3 i NHL (Small bets), fick dock reda på att han menade ML, så skulle varit 2-1, men jag tänker inte ändra nått. |

Basil: here's what I have so far. Caps will win, maybe a big bet on them Moneyline and a smaller unit bet on Caps -0.5 is a good idea; not sure I'd do the Over as Devils don't score much. Probably will do the Kings Moneyline as well, but Leclaire is confirmed for Ottawa and Quick hasn't gotten the official nod yet for LA so I am waiting just in case.
NBA: I like the Orlando Magic +4 over the San Antonio Spurs tonight too, it's a battle of the 2 conference leaders so will be a great game. Orlando has won 4 games in a row, and San Antonio has won 10 straight, but the what I like here is that the Magic have held opponents to just over 90 points per game (they gave up more than 100 points only 2x so far) so while it will be tight I think the Magic can drop the Spurs and we are getting 4 points help. NHL: Washington Capitals -0.5 vs. NJ Devils: These 2 teams hate each other, and with the Caps having dropped 2 games in a row they are definitely in a scrappy mood and the failing Devils are just what the Doctor order to get Ovechkin & Co. back on track. New Jersey on the other hand, can't score (3 goals for them in their last 3 games including a 3-2 loss to the Blues, a 3-0 loss to the Bruins, and a 3-1 loss to the Leafs) and has won just 1 game at home and that came against the Oilers (in OT!). Add all that up and Washington looks set to come into the Pru Center and wreak havoc. Hedberg is confirmed in nets for New Jersey (Brodeur hurt his elbow and left in the 2nd period of the last game). |
