Forest v Reading, Pick over 2.25 goals @1.9 Pinnacle 3/10
Forest are absolutely flying at the moment demolishing WBA in the league and pretty unfortunate to lose at in form Birmingham despite putting out 7 of their second choice players in that match. Manager has surely had more than half an eye on this fixture and we can expect to see the full attacking threat of Anderson, Majewski and Blackstock come back into the side. Forest are far more attacking in mentality and line up at home as is illustrated by fourteen goals scored in their last 4 homes. Reading meanwhile are coming off a fine win at the hapless scousers and will be full of confidence going into this one. Yes there is the possibility of tiredness and post cup hangover but this is more likely to be among the defensive players as Long and Raziak didn't play the full 120 up front. New signing Griffin will come in at full back for Reading but although he's very solid at this level, he hasn't played for a while and will be up against players who have more pace than him. Should be a few goals here.
African Cup of Nations
Nigeria v Benin, Pick Nigeria -1 @1.81 Pinnacle 3/10
Having watched the bulk of the tournament it might seem foolish to back any side on this sort of handicap, the lesser lights of Gabon and Burkina Faso have already held on comfortably enough against the more fancied teams of Cameroon and Ivory Coast. However it is now or never for Nigeria, they have a far superior squad to Benin and have won both their recent meetings. Benin's first match against Mozambique was one of the poorest in a pretty weak tournament so far. The defending particularly from the Benin gk was embarrassing and not even worthy of Conference level football in England. Maybe the coach will make changes here but having failed to beat Mozambique, Benin can not afford to sit back here. Class should tell.
England League 2
Dagenham v Crewe, Pick over 2.75 goals @1.96 Pinnacle 3/10
Based on stats and style this should be a goal fest. Dagenham are 8/12 overs at home and will always play on the front foot on their own turf and here they come up against Crewe one of the most overish sides in the country, a phenomenal 14/16 overs in recent games. Imp winger Joel Grant may return for this one which would be a bonus but with plenty of in form attacking players on show, that should be immaterial. A slight negative in the weather but if the game is on the enthusiasm of the players after their enforced break should counterbalance that.
