OVERVIEW: BERNIE WINKLE (3) gets the nod in an excellent open class event. He worked home nicely behind Mister Wickham in a mile rate of 1.54.4 at Melton last outing and his last venture to Mildura saw him winning impressively. MARK DENNIS (10) pushed through hard from the second line in order to obtain a prominent position but was checked on the first turn and lost his winning chance last week. He overcame a wide trip to win at Mildura prior so he is worth another chance. FLOJOS GOLD (8) couldn’t work into the race after dropping back at the start from a wide draw last week but her sectional times were slick. She is racing well enough to figure in the finish. MISTERFREEZE (1) and the Sunraysia Cup winner BROCKS TERRITORY (7) are both worth thought from their inside draw and PERSPECTIVE (5) should be getting fitter after his two runs back from a break.
