16/2 20:30 Port Talbot Town - Cefn Druids (Wales Premier League)
20:30 Port Talbot Town - Cefn Druids
Port Talbot Town:
Lagens form:
Port Talbot Town: 5-0-0
Cefn Druids: 0-2-3

Info:
Port Talbot Town
Port Talbot Town are back in Welsh Premier League action on Tuesday against Elements Cefn Druids. A goal from Drew Fahiya was enough for Mark Jones side to defeat Druids on the opening day of he season and manager Mark Jones would be more than happy with a report scoreline at The GenQuip Stadium on Tuesday night following last Friday’s defeat. Matthew Rees and Lee Surman are both available after missing the defeat at Aberystwyth through suspension but Scott Barrow is unavailable due to his accumulation of bookings.
Former Llanelli and Barry Town goalkeeper will be a surprise starter in goal for Port Talbot Town this evening, when the Steelmen host Elements Cefn Druids at the GenQuip Stadium.
Roberts retired from the game in November 2008 through injury after 69 Welsh Premier League appearances, but he has signed for the Steelmen as emergency cover for this evening's match. Regular incumbent Lee Kendall is unavailable just for tonight, so Roberts will deputise.
Roberts boasts a wealth of experience having won the Championship with Llanelli as well as playing for a number of years in the English pyramid. He also played in the Welsh Cup final at Newtown against Bangor City, when a pitch invasion from behind his goal, marred the afternoon in May 2008. Previous back-up 'keeper Tony Pennock joined Welsh League Aberaman so Roberts, who lives in Barry, has answered Mark Jones' SOS call. As a player whose last contract was cancelled, under FIFA rules, the 30-year old was allowed to sign for any club outside the transfer window.
Roberts will be delighted to have the experienced centre-backs Lee Surman and Matthew Rees in front of him for his debut, as the duo return following suspension. Leigh deVulgt will move back to right-back, with Nicky Holland dropping out. Karl Lewis was suffering with illness on Friday so he is a doubt.
Cefn Druids
ELEMENTS Cefn Druids make the long trek south to Port Talbot on Tuesday night with Lee Jones looking for a similar performance to the one that saw The Ancients narrowly lose out to Bala on Friday
Jones and Waynne Phillips are likely to be without Ricky Wright and Dan Barnett who are both carrying knocks while Josh Russell and Drew Wickens are also unavailable. Phillips is also likely to miss out himself while he continues to recover from a minor operation. Chris Buxton is likely to be drafted into the squad after missing out on the 16 on Friday
Jones said that Tuesday's game could be an ideal scenario for his side because of the way Port Talbot play
He said: "I hope we show the same character as we did on Friday. It's a great chance for our lads because we'll be up against a team in the top half and are playing well
It will be a tough test for us. They are a very good team at home and Mark Jones has them well drilled and organised. They are always a threat going forward."
He added: "We're not expected to go down there and get anything from the game but, if the lads put in the same effort as they did on Friday, then we can't ask for more than that. Anything we get from the game will be a bonus.
"Hopefully it'll be another step in the learning curve for the lads for next season."
Spel:
Port Talbot Town - Cefn Druids HCP(0-1) 1 @ 1.60 (NB) 4u
LYCKA TILL!!!
