"We've played hard and been right there, but we still don't have anything tangible to show for it," Suns coach Alvin Gentry said of all the recent losses.

"At the end of the day we've put ourselves in a position where we're not mathematically eliminated, but it would take a miracle for us to make the playoffs."

Following the loss to Dallas Sunday, the Suns were all but conceding there is no miracle out there.

"It feels like it's over just because we haven't played as well or won games," guard Steve Nash said after the loss. "It's disappointing but it's been disappointing all season."

Center Marcin Gortat, who replaced cameo starter Robin Lopez in the starting lineup against Dallas, echoed that sentiment.

"After this game, I don't think we're going to be talking about playoffs this year anymore," he said.
